Build with Allan & Friends

Brief: How might we support refugee children in becoming fully connected, active members of society and give them an equal chance at leading rich and fulfilling lives?

Allen and friends is a simple to use, open-ended, reusable system of tools for creative cardboard construction. With just two customised tools: the Screw and Allan key (do excuse my stale sense of humour), children as young as four can punch holes in and securely connect layers of cardboard. it is designed for girls and boys, young and old, individuals and groups of all skill levels to make anything imaginable, of any size with found card board.

The Problem:

Rohingya refugee crisis

The Rohingya crisis has placed the lives of the displaced and desper- ate Rohingya children in limbo. As noted, the Rohingya refugee chil- dren have been exposed to trafficking, child marriage, exploitation, and abuse (Hutchinson, 2018). Already stateless, they have also be- come rightless and face an uncertain future. It seems they are no one's responsibility, and the possibility of their returning home is uncertain (Yee, 2017).

The children are at a risk of becoming the lost Generation!
